Coffee Shops with Kids' Corner. We Love you.
Jul 04, 2017
Having kids meant I had to give up a lot: brunch with my friends, spur-of- the-moment day trips, all the fun stuff.
One thing I wasn't willing to give up was my coffee dates with my girlfriends. Granted, they are few and far
between, but having a coffee date with kids is possible. I have searched far and wide to find places I can sit
down, enjoy a cup of joe with my gal pal, and unwind while my kids play. There's really nothing I like more than
a coffee shop with a kids’ corner. Below I have compiled a list of my favorites.
Mean Cup-
398 Harrisburg Ave, Lancaster
The kids’ corner is small but it does the job. It can keep my littles entertained long enough for me to drink my
coffee while it's still hot. It includes a play espresso machine, a chalk board, and books. They also make my
kids a warm cider and put it in a coffee cup so they look like little hipsters, which is awesome.
The Coffee Station-
2351 Oregon Pike, Lancaster
The Coffee Station's kids’ corner is awesome! They have tons of toys neatly packed away, puzzles, coloring
books, and comfy chairs. We love to head across the street to the Hands On House after I've had my daily
dose of caffeine.
The Speckled Hen-
141 East Main Street, Strasburg
The Speckled Hen's kids’ area is top notch! It has lots of books, toys, and even a train set. The chairs next to
the play area are plush and cozy and the food is delicious. It is worth the extra drive and my kids are always
sad to leave.
The Rabbit and the Dragonfly-
51 N Market St, Lancaster
The kids nook at the Rabbit and the Dragonfly is sweet. It's like a used books store (with great prices) and kids’
corner hybrid. They have plenty of games and even a piano to keep your tots occupied while you sip your java.
We love stopping by before or after Central Market.
Geneva Bakery Cafe-
6030 Lemon Street, East Petersburg
The kids’ corner here is so nice! It has games and books that my kids love and will play with for hours. They
also have events with homemade waffles and story time that are awesome and they have amazing bakery
items.
Lancaster Cupcake-
24 W Orange Street, Lancaster
Although it's not truly a coffee shop they have killer coffee, desserts and even ice cream. The play kitchen area
is adorable and will keep my tots baking up pretend treats for hours.
I have learned that having kids doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your old ways. Sometimes they just need to
be modified a smidge. These coffee shops have earned my business a million times over.
Did we miss any spots? What’s your favorite place to have coffee with your tots?
