Lancaster Cupcake play kitchen

Cupcakes, caffeine, and a kids' kitchen.

Lucy, the kiddos and I went to downtown Lancaster for a quick lunch recently. I managed to twist Lucy's arm into walking to Lancaster Cupcake for some after-lunch playing, coffee, and sweets. After a significantly longer walk than expected (with three two-year- old nuggets and 30- degree weather) we all arrived in one piece. The kids headed over to in the play area – a fully stocked kids' kitchen area - after demanding chocolate party cupcakes. Seriously, you can't remember where you put your shoes EVER but you can remember the exact name of your cupcake order at Lancaster Cupcake? Anyway, the kids all enjoyed their cupcakes, as did I, a delightful peanut butter ganache. I am not new to cupcakes, or Lancaster Cupcake, but they still take me to a remarkable place every time I eat (or inhale) one.

Lucy had a regular coffee because she's lame. I enjoyed a yummy cake batter hot chocolate. It was decadent and delicious. The menu also has lots of other specialty coffee drinks and yummy ice cream treats. The play area is a perfect corner for your kids while you savor a drink and cupcake. It features a play kitchen complete with ovens, a couple of mixers, bowls, lots of plastic buildable cupcakes, and pans. It is sure to keep your tikes occupied while you and a gal pal enjoy a fresh coffee and cupcake. The staff is friendly and didn't even kick us out when our kids smudged up the windows looking at the snow and both of my twins managed to crap their pants. (Simultaneously, how does that happen every time we are out?). This is a serious plus.

The downtown Lancaster location also has a party room where private parties can be held. How cute would it be to have a cupcake decorating party with none of the mess?
