Feeling Like a Kid Again

A Trip to Dutch Wonderland and Down Memory Lane
It’s easy to forget about the treasures that Lancaster has to offer that many families travel from long
distances to visit. We’re lucky to live in an area where there are so many options for a memorable
summer day and one of our favorites is Dutch Wonderland and it’s practically in our backyard and boy, do
we feel lucky for that.
We recently paired up with Dutch Wonderland to give our readers a sneak peak of all the fun activities
they have to offer, along with a promo code for our readers to use. We packed up a big pile of kids, filled
our water bottles, and tried to take in every experience this park has to offer.
The Kingdom for Kids has been around since we were youngsters, making it a nostalgic visit for parents.
Some of the classic rides still grace the park, like The Turnpike antique cars or the train that takes guests
on a tour around the park. Some of us rode on the Kingdom Coaster for the first or took the Sky Ride to
view the park from a bird’s eye view. The Joust Family Coaster was a big hit with all the kids, as it’s a
miniature coaster for a thrilling ride for the smaller ones. A favorite among our group was the Turtle Whirl,
which we rode about 10 times and we love the newest roller coaster addition, Merlin’s Mayhem and to cool off, we love all the splashing, slides, fountains and gadgets that fill Duke’s Lagoon’s water park.
The dive shows that take place throughout the day are nothing short of fascinating, so grab a treat, take a
seat and enjoy some talented divers who put on a hilarious and impressive show. If you’re brave enough
to sit in the splash zone, be sure to take a seat on the red bleachers.
Bands march enthusiastically through the park and invite guests to join along in dances and sing-alongs.
You can mine for stones, listen to stories with the princess and other characters throughout the day, relax
on the gondola or find a nice shaded spot to enjoy a meal. What we love about Dutch Wonderland is that
it really caters to kids of all ages, offering rides for little to big kids, lots of activities, and little events that
give everyone a chance to sit down, relax and enjoy the surroundings. We whole heartedly agree that
Dutch Wonderland is truly “a kingdom for kids” and adults alike.
